Who we are
LUZ Impacto Foundation is a Costa Rican evangelical Christian ministry.
We operate the website luzimpacto.org. Any inquiry about this
policy can be directed to samuel@luzimpacto.org.
What information we collect
Our website does not automatically collect personal data. Specifically:
- We don't use tracking cookies or personalized analytics.
- We don't have forms that ask for personal data without your explicit action.
- Initial contact is by WhatsApp, Instagram, or email, where you choose what information to share.
Information you voluntarily share
When you message us by WhatsApp, Instagram, or email, we only collect the
information you share with us (name, contact, reason for your message).
We use it exclusively to respond and coordinate what you need.
Donations
Donations are processed through SINPE Móvil or bank transfer (IBAN).
For international donations, we coordinate by WhatsApp. Donation data is handled
directly by those platforms — we only receive the amount and, if you send it,
your name as a donor.
We don't sell, rent, or share donor information with third parties under any circumstances.
Minors
Most of the people who hear the LUZ message in schools are minors.
This requires special care from us:
- School consent. Every school visit is coordinated with the school's leadership.
The activity takes place within the framework the school authorizes.
- Voluntary participation. No young person is required to receive the message,
respond to the call, or hand over contact information. Anyone who chooses to share their name, age,
and a contact channel (phone, Instagram, or email) does so freely.
- Limited use of information. The young person's data is used exclusively for
(a) personal follow-up by the LUZ team and (b) referral to a local partner church near their home.
It is not used for marketing, nor shared with any third party other than the partner church.
- Short retention. If after six months there's no activity or response from the
young person, their data is removed from our internal systems.
- Right to immediate deletion. Any parent, guardian, or the young person themselves
can request deletion of their data by writing to
samuel@luzimpacto.org.
We process deletion within 48 hours and confirm in writing.
- Identity protection in testimonies. When we publish a young person's testimony,
we do so with explicit consent. If the young person is a minor, we also request consent from a
parent or guardian, and in many cases we use only a first name or change the identifying details.
Photos and testimonies
The photos on the site are from real LUZ Impacto events. When we include
identifiable faces or personal testimonies, we do so with explicit permission.
If you appear in a photo and don't want it published, message us and we'll
remove it within 48 hours.
Third-party services
The site uses the following external services:
- Cloudflare Pages — for site hosting.
- Google Fonts — for loading the Spectral and Inter typefaces.
These services may collect basic technical information (IP, browser) per their own policies.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we'll reflect it in the date above. Significant changes
will be announced on our social media.
